ICE Data Services Named Best Solution in Market Risk & Stress Testing

Singapore/Hong Kong, 9 December 2021 ICE Data Services won Best Solution in Market Risk and Stress Testing in the 4th Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2021 at an online ceremony on 9 December 2021.

ICE was recognised for its ICE Portfolio Analytics (IPA) – Derivatives platform, a cross asset portfolio analytics solution that can help traders and risk teams at financial institutions monitor and manage risk in their investment and trading portfolios. IPA supports pre-trade price discovery and decision support tools, RFQ, STP deal capture, trade repository, scenario analysis, risk management reports and the ability to calculate valuations based on live/cut-off data.

IPA is a SaaS solution, meaning firms can access the platform and perform analytics including stress tests on their portfolios anywhere in real time, leveraging ICE’s derivatives market data. Users also have the flexibility to design their own stress test scenarios, which can enable risk officers and front office traders to assess the impact potential changes in market conditions may have on portfolios quickly and efficiently.

“From pre trade price discovery and analysis to post trade, margining and stress testing practices, IPA allows users to continually refresh the values and risk metrics of entire portfolios in real time,” noted a judge on the awards panel. “Real time portfolio monitoring is very much needed especially when market conditions are volatile or uncertainty in markets is high. IPA’s ability to analyse holdings at both a single security and portfolio level, and its coverage of multiple asset classes, makes it a powerful resource.”

IPA has been widely range of users in APAC, including by regional and local banks and insurance firms in Japan, global and local banks in Singapore and Hong Kong, and large banks and brokerage firms in Australia. In North Asia, a mix of local, regional and global banks, as well as hedge funds, are also using the IPA platform to manage market risk.

ICE’s tools can support a variety of FRTB related use cases, including back-testing, independent price verification and market liquidity assessments. Separately, ICE also offers a highly flexible and configurable solution designed to help with risk factor modellability assessments under FRTB. The solution provides a rich database of historical information and real price observation details with coverage across broad asset classes, addressing the significant data challenges facing banks ahead of implementation due in the coming years.
