IHS Markit Wins Best Solution in Corporate Actions

Singapore/Hong Kong, 9 December 2021 – IHS Markit has won Best Solution in Corporate Actions in the 4th Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2021 at an online ceremony on 9 December 2021.

IHS Markit was recognised for its enterprise grade corporate actions software solution, known as IMActions, which streamlines the collection, validation, and dissemination of corporate actions announcements, thereby enabling firms to automate and accelerate the corporate actions processing lifecycle – from elections and instructions, through to allocations, tax, and claim processing.

IMActions is compliant with ISO 15022 and ISO 20022, and is also able to interface via CSV, XML, API, and proprietary file formats. This ensures the corporate actions data sources can be consumed by firms of all sizes, from small hedge funds and large asset and wealth managers on the buy-side, to custodians, investment banks and prime brokers on the sell-side. The solution allows firms to reduce the risk of corporate actions processing failures, increase efficiency, and ensure decision makers have access to timely and accurate data.

While IMActions is designed as a back-office enterprise software solution to cater for end-to-end straight through processing of all corporate action event types across asset classes, IHS Markit also provides a separate solution, IMConnecting, which enables front-office personnel and end investors to view and elect on corporate actions via a web portal, adding further platform access flexibility.

“IHS Markit brings a unique combination of enterprise technology solutions and managed data in its corporate actions offering, helping firms to reduce risk, increase operational efficiency and enhance service quality,” said a judge on the awards panel. “The ability to streamline, optimise, and automate complex corporate actions operational workflows and the low total cost of ownership provides peace of mind in an area that has historically been very manually-driven.”

A new low code and configurable user experience has been recently developed with new risk and control dashboards, to allow for efficient management of the exception-based workflow within IMActions. Additional graphical tools enable users and team leaders to understand immediate and longer-term priorities, as well as various metrics and statuses of individual and team level outstanding workflow exceptions.
