Singapore/Hong Kong, 22 November 2022 – Moody’s Analytics has been awarded Best Solution – KYB & Entity Resolution in the 5th Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2022 at an in-person ceremony on 22 November 2022.
Moody’s Analytics was recognised for kompany, a regtech platform it acquired in December 2021. The platform offers KYB data obtained from primary government sources, made possible by over 200 live connections to corporate registers, financial authorities and tax offices in more than 200 countries and jurisdictions. This includes new links established to sources in Japan, Korea, Australia, India, Thailand and Malaysia in the last 24 months.
The platform enables instant verification of entities through real-time access to data and documents on more than 115 million companies. It also offers a blockchain-based automated audit trail, which is immutable and time-stamped, and is compatible with ISO 20022 for payment messaging integration. In addition, real-time monitoring capabilities enable firms to receive alerts when changes occur at the registry level, allowing a shift from periodic to perpetual KYB check, and lower regulatory risk.
“Each primary source has its own unique infrastructure setup, which brings technical challenges for firms trying to establish a direct API link,” said one judge on the Regulation Asia awards panel. “A bank would often need to check registries manually, which is time consuming. So being able to establish direct API links for over 200 jurisdictions is a significant feat, and a boon for cross-border payments. The pay-as-you-go pricing option also helps smaller institutions make use of the platform.”
The kompany platform is mostly used by financial institutions for AML compliance, customer onboarding and beneficial ownership discovery.
