Moody’s Analytics Wins Risk Data Management Award, Highly Commended in Regulatory Reporting

Moody’s Analytics has won the award for Best Solution in Risk Data Management and was highly commended for its Regulatory Reporting solution in the inaugural Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2018 at a ceremony in Singapore on 13 November 2018.

In the Risk Data Management category, the Moody’s Analytics RiskFoundation™ solution emerged as the winner after a rigorous selection process, involving a judging panel made up of subject-matter experts and the Regulation Asia editorial team. The platform consolidates risk and finance data from different systems into a single, common system of record, conducting extensive data quality checks in the process. The resulting unified dataset can integrate with other Moody’s Analytics applications.

Judges noted that the RiskFoundation tool facilitates operational efficiency, enhanced reporting capabilities and risk analysis, resulting in a higher risk appetite and overall improved data and risk management at financial institutions. Centralising economic, risk and financial data, the platform provides a “single source of truth” that helps banks coordinate decision-making with full auditability across departments.

Some of the key differentiating features for the judges were the RiskFoundation solution’s powerful toolkits and APIs to align the solution users’ needs, including on-demand analytics and reports at both aggregate and transactional levels. The platform also includes built-in regulatory workflow management capabilities to help define and automate key decision steps, approval rules and ongoing monitoring, noted one judge.

Meanwhile, in the hotly-contested Regulatory Reporting category, judges were impressed by the comprehensiveness of the Moody’s Analytics Regulatory Reporting Module, which enables banks to manage global regulatory reporting obligations from a single platform. The solution automates the collection, processing, data validation and submission of reports to regulators in more than 50 countries, while also ensuring changes in regulatory requirements are analysed and implemented well in advance of compliance deadlines.

The solution can integrate with existing systems and other Moody’s Analytics products, and is now available for deployment for clients on premises, or hosted on a private, public or hybrid cloud, providing added flexibility to clients, noted one judge. More than 100 banks around the world use the platform to meet regulatory reporting obligations.
