Refinitiv has been awarded the Best Solution in Anti-Money Laundering in the inaugural Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2018 at a ceremony in Singapore on 13 November 2018.
The firm emerged as the winner after a rigorous selection process, involving a judging panel made up of subject-matter experts and the Regulation Asia editorial team.
Refinitiv offers a number of state-of-the-art products to help firms achieve the toughest regulatory compliance and combat fraud, money laundering, and financial crime. An industry standard, Refinitiv’s flagship World-Check One service is used by the world’s largest banks, fortune 500 companies and over 300 government and intelligence agencies.
The service supports the firms’ KYC and third-party risk due diligence process, helping uncover risk associated with sanctions, organised crime, fraud, money laundering, bribery and corruption, as well as modern day slavery and country risk. It has recently been enhanced through the launch of Media Check, which helps compliance teams pinpoint media content most relevant to regulatory and legislative compliance requirements. Media Check’s intelligent search and machine learning algorithms have helped reduce false positives and improve content navigation, leading to better decision making and risk management.
World-Check One also simplifies screening for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions and organised crime and provides detailed monitoring of Politically Exposed Person (PEP) relationships, enabling organisations to meet a variety of compliance obligations and manage customer and third-party risk. It is a single-platform, relationship risk management tool that equips organisations with sophisticated screening software, auditing tools as well as enhanced capabilities for data protection, media searches and data management.
The software’s API allows for the integration of large volumes of information and advanced functionalities into existing workflows and an organisation’s internal systems such as CRM systems, in order to manage onboarding and ongoing monitoring of business relationships.
Refinitiv also provides Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reports to facilitate a greater level of scrutiny on potential business associates by focusing on not just the company and its owners, but also on key management and decision makers, providing insights on their background, track record, competencies and potential conflicts of interest. The service helps firms highlight risks that cannot be detected at a geopolitical analysis or batch screening level.
