Singapore/Hong Kong, 14 November 2019 – PwC’s consulting practice in Singapore has won the Consulting Firm of the Year category in the 2nd Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2019 at a ceremony in Singapore on 13 November 2019.
The firm emerged as the winner after a rigorous selection process, involving a judging panel made up of subject-matter experts and the Regulation Asia editorial team. PwC demonstrated strengths across a range of services to attest to its strong value proposition. In particular, the stand-out performances were in risk and regulatory advisory and implementation services, data governance, financial risk management and quantitative modelling, forensics, dispute advisory and financial crime. These services cover a wide range of industry regulations and accounting standards, including BCBS 239, KYC and AML, IFRS 9 and IFRS 17.
PwC has deep capabilities across the Asia Pacific region, including to provide analysis and advice to help a wide variety of financial services firms develop and manage end-to-end implementations across a wide range of regulatory themes. PwC also has extensive experience engaging with regulators and industry bodies.
The judges also highlighted the value of PwC’s financial crime unit across Asia Pacific. “This operational capability is unique in the region being solely focused on financial crime and it clearly differentiates PwC’s delivery capability from the more general service delivery centres other consulting firms offer,” said one judge, also commending efforts to bring together PwC firms from other jurisdictions to fight financial crime.
In the 2018 Regulation Asia Awards, PwC was highly commended in the Consulting Firm of the Year, and additionally won an Outstanding Project award for its work to support banks in meeting the BCBS 239 requirements.
