Singapore/Hong Kong, 14 November 2019 – Refinitiv has been awarded Best Solution in AML/CTF Compliance in the 2nd Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2019 at a ceremony in Singapore on 13 November 2019.
The firm emerged as the winner after a rigorous selection process, involving a judging panel made up of subject-matter experts and the Regulation Asia editorial team, for World-Check One, which the judges said stands apart in its provision of KYC verification against financial crime, bribery, corruption and other essential due diligence needs. Refinitiv leverages on its World-Check database of more than 4 million records, and its sanctions check process is ISAE3000 certified.
World-Check One offers an “essential screening platform”, a judge says. Paired with risk intelligence data World-Check One’s automated screening software allows customers to take a targeted approach to AML screening. With 100% global sanctions coverage, relevant records are tagged with specific keywords to allow customers to choose and filter for the relevant sanctions regime during their screening processes. Tailoring the screening processes to relevant parameters allows users to significantly reduce the number of false positives results returned.
Further, World-Check One is also increasing its utility by adding additional language support, including Chinese language tagging, which was supported since earlier this year. Refinitiv has also pushed into new functionalities, including to provide additional beneficial ownership capabilities through a new partnership with Dun & Bradstreet. It also launched vessel checks early in the year.
The judges also highlighted the Refinitiv media check solution, which monitors over 13,000 media sources and breaks down articles into structured content including the names of specific entities and individuals using artificial intelligence.
