S&P Global Sustainable1 Awarded ESG Initiative of the Year

Singapore/Hong Kong, 14 November 2023 – S&P Global Sustainable1 was awarded ESG Initiative of the Year in the 6th Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2023 at an in-person ceremony on 14 November 2023.

This award recognises initiatives that address ESG-related challenges and achieve specific objectives, celebrating innovation, collaboration, and leadership in promoting sustainability, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

S&P Global Sustainable1 was recognised for its Nature & Biodiversity Risk solution, which provides corporates and financial institutions a quantitative approach to measure the impacts and dependencies of assets, companies, and portfolios on nature, in line with the TNFD recommendations. The solution, launched in Q1 2023, covers a universe of over 17,000 companies representing 1.6 million geolocated corporate assets.

The Regulation Asia awards panel credited S&P Global Sustainable1 for demonstrating leadership in seeking to comprehensively address challenges related to TNFD reporting, while also promoting collaboration at the global, regional and local levels. “Sustainable1 is helping to address the very important issue of nature and biodiversity risk,” one of the judges said. “It has a unique ecosystem footprint and is a clear innovator in this space.”
