HONG KONG, 5 November 2026 – Aereve has been named a Rising Star in Anti-Fraud Project of the Year at the ninth annual Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence, presented at The St. Regis Hong Kong.
The Rising Star award recognises early-stage and smaller firms that placed strongly against established providers. The award recognises a specific anti-fraud project, in production or at proof of concept, that tackled a significant, clearly defined fraud problem with an original approach and measurably reduced fraud losses.
Aereve tackles cross-border financial crime by screening names directly in their original scripts. By processing languages like Chinese and Arabic natively, the patented technology eliminates the high false-positive rates caused by forced transliteration. The platform subsequently applies bounded generative AI to evaluate adverse media allowing investigators to move beyond isolated alerts and uncover connected scam networks.
For anti-fraud teams, this is more than a language issue: aliases, name-order changes and transliteration gaps can create false alerts or obscure the person behind a cross-border risk. Aereve resolves the identity signal in the original script before an investigator or AI workflow assesses the wider context, helping teams focus on the cases and connected networks that matter.
Aereve completed a three-regulator run unusual for a Hong Kong regtech: the HKMA GenAI Sandbox, an MAS PathFin.ai use case and selection for the FCA's AI Live Testing cohort, giving the firm a three-market platform to demonstrate how multilingual AI RegTech can be measured.
A PathFin.ai case study showed that deployment of Aereve’s AI-powered AML/KYC screening and adverse-media solution by a fund manager yielded 91% of alerts auto-resolved with zero analyst touch, reduced KYC/AML name-screening time by an estimated 50% or more, reduced manual alert reviews by 80%, and a 100% audit trail retained for discounted alerts.
“Few young regtechs test their work with one regulator in a year, let alone three. Aereve did, and placed strongly against established institutions,” said Nick Wakefield, Co-founder, Regulation Asia.
About the Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence
Now in their ninth year, the Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence recognise achievements advancing regulatory practice across Asia-Pacific.
The judging process involves an independent panel of senior industry practitioners and the Awards Committee. Entries are assessed against published, award-specific criteria covering Asia-Pacific relevance and material developments in the twelve months to 30 June 2026. Awards are granted against a defined standard rather than relative to other entries.
Judging decisions are independent of editorial and commercial operations. There is no entry, shortlisting or winner fee, and commercial relationships do not influence results.
