ISDA has won Outstanding Contribution to Regulatory Reforms for the second consecutive year at the ninth annual Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence
HONG KONG, 5 November 2026 – The International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) has won Outstanding Contribution to Regulatory Reforms for the second consecutive year at the ninth annual Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence, presented at The St. Regis Hong Kong.
By turning reporting rules into industry-agreed, machine-executable code that firms and supervisors can use free of charge, ISDA's Digital Regulatory Reporting (DRR) solution has changed how obligations are met, with production code ready ahead of the September 2025 go-live of the HKMA's rule rewrite.
As with every returning winner, the Awards Committee assessed this year's entry on its own merits rather than on past results. ISDA was also recognised this year in Industry Association of the Year (Highly Commended).
This award recognises an organisation that drove a specific, significant reform, judged on policy significance, stakeholder engagement and measurable improvement. The Awards Committee assessed entries on the significance of the reform, leadership and collaboration, measurable impact, and durability and innovation.
“ISDA's Digital Regulatory Reporting replaces firm-by-firm interpretation with industry-agreed, machine-executable code that firms and supervisors can use free of charge. Production code was ready ahead of every Asia-Pacific compliance date. That is structural reform,” said the Regulation Asia Awards Committee.
“Regulatory reporting has cost the industry a great deal for too little consistency. ISDA's work points to a better model, for firms and supervisors alike,” said Nick Wakefield, Co-founder, Regulation Asia.
About the Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence
Now in their ninth year, the Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence recognise achievements advancing regulatory practice across Asia-Pacific.
The judging process involves an independent panel of senior industry practitioners and the Awards Committee. Entries are assessed against published, award-specific criteria covering Asia-Pacific relevance and material developments in the twelve months to 30 June 2026. Awards are granted against a defined standard rather than relative to other entries.
Judging decisions are independent of editorial and commercial operations. There is no entry, shortlisting or winner fee, and commercial relationships do not influence results.
