HONG KONG, 5 November 2026 – LSEG Risk Intelligence has won Best Payments Compliance & Risk Solution at the ninth annual Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence, presented at The St. Regis Hong Kong.
By combining payee verification with real-time sanctions screening, LSEG Risk Intelligence helps financial institutions, fintechs and multinational corporations prevent fraud before funds are lost, protect victims from the growing global scam epidemic, and remain compliant amid the high velocity and complexity of sanctions updates which remain volatile. This includes capabilities closely aligned with the HKMA name-matching circular and the MAS-IMDA Shared Responsibility Framework.
The award adds to LSEG Risk Intelligence's earlier Regulation Asia recognition, including its 2025 win for Best AML / CTF Data Provider. LSEG Risk Intelligence was also recognised this year in Best Digital Identity Verification Solution (Highly Commended), Best Sanctions, PEPs & Adverse Media Screening Solution, Technology Provider and Best AML/CTF & Sanctions Data Provider (Highly Commended).
This award recognises the solution that best manages payments compliance and risk, covering licensing and safeguarding, e-money and settlement duties, cross-border payments compliance and emerging liability and reimbursement models for scams. The Awards Committee assessed entries on coverage of payments regulation, real-time and cross-border risk, support for scam and APP-fraud liability and reimbursement frameworks, and cross-border interoperability.
“LSEG Risk Intelligence offers payee verification and sanctions screening through one contract and one API, closely aligned with the region's new name-matching and shared-responsibility rules, and keeps a timestamped, reason-coded record of each check,” said the Regulation Asia Awards Committee.
“Scam liability is shifting towards payment providers across the region. LSEG Risk Intelligence showed controls built for those new rules,” said Bradley Maclean, Chair of the Awards Committee, Regulation Asia.
About the Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence
Now in their ninth year, the Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence recognise achievements advancing regulatory practice across Asia-Pacific.
The judging process involves an independent panel of senior industry practitioners and the Awards Committee. Entries are assessed against published, award-specific criteria covering Asia-Pacific relevance and material developments in the twelve months to 30 June 2026. Awards are granted against a defined standard rather than relative to other entries.
Judging decisions are independent of editorial and commercial operations. There is no entry, shortlisting or winner fee, and commercial relationships do not influence results.
